Great Ocean Road, Grampians National Park, Ballarat and Goldfields
This four day tour has been designed to provide visitors an unforgettable introduction to the Great Ocean Road, the Grampians National Park and to Ballarat and the Goldfields. As such, a considerable amount of walking is included in this tour to ensure guests experience first hand the grandeur of Victoria’s South West. Appropriate footwear and clothing is required
Your guide has worked as a Ranger and Ranger in Charge in many of the parks we visit and can provide an excellent insight, not only in terms of flora, fauna, history but also park management. This tour is fully interpreted.
There are no early morning departures (except for day one) and the tour has been structured at a relaxed pace which allows guests some free time. All accommodation, meals, and admission to venues are included.
Day 1 - Great Ocean Road
(lunch and dinner included)
We depart from Melbourne and travel along the world famous Great Ocean Road. Our first stop is at Torquay and Bells Beach which hosts the Bells International Surfing Tournament. We stop at the fashionable Lorne for a quick coffee stop before travelling to Apollo Bay for lunch.
After lunch we stop at Melba Gully and walk through the temperate rainforest and then on to the old General store at Princetown which overlooks the Gellibrand river. We continue on to explore the Twelve Apostles and the Loch Ard Gorge area which is rich in both magnificent landscapes and shipwreck history.
We arrive in Port Campbell about 1730.

Port Campbell – Portside Motel and Waves Restaurant.
Evening option:
From November to March there is an option of viewing Muttonbirds returning at sunset to Muttonbird Island or watching little penguins return to their burrows on Twelve Apostles beach at sunset.
Day 2 - Great Ocean Road and Grampians National Park
(continental breakfast, lunch, dinner and admission to Flagstaff Hill included)
We depart from Port Campbell and continue along the Great Ocean Road and stop at The Arch, London Bridge, Peterborough and the magnificient Bay of Islands before continuing on to seaside town of Warrnambool.
After lunch we explore the Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village. We then continue on to Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve, an extinct volcano, before driving to Dunkeld via the stunning Dunkeld – Halls Gap road. We arrive in Halls Gap within the Grampians National Park at approximately 1800 hours.

Halls Gap – D’Altons Studio Apartments/Wonderland Cabins and Quarry Restaurant.
Evening option:
short walk to Venus Baths or kangaroo walk from Tandarra Rd.
Day 3 - The Grampians National Park
(continental breakfast, lunch and dinner included)
After breakfast we drive to the Wonderland Car Park and then have the option of walking to the Pinnacle. It’s all up hill but the views are spectacular and well worth the effort!
After the walk we then travel to Brambuk Cultural Centre for lunch and walk through the Visitor Centre. We do allow an hour’s free time to simply rest or wander through the township of Halls Gap. In mid afternoon we then do the scenic drive to Reed’s Lookout and McKenzie Falls. On the way back we stop for a short walk through the magnificent fern covered Dalley’s Dell Walk before returning to Halls Gap.

Evening option:
Bocce or view sunset from Mt William.
Day 4 - Ballarat
(continental breakfast, lunch, Seppelts tour and admission to Sovereign Hill included)
After departing Halls Gap we travel to Stawell, before travelling on to the famous wine town of Great Western and to Seppelts for a tour of the winery and underground cellars.
From Great Western we continue on to have lunch in Ballarat, and then on to Sovereign Hill to experience life on the Victorian goldfields in the 1850’s
We arrive in Melbourne about 1900 hours.
